My First Red Sox game of the Season

Tonight I attended my first Red Sox game of the 2009 season. It was the 18th home game for the Sox. My seats were right next to the Pesky Poll. The game was against the Toronto Blue Jays, and it was a pretty short game. The game lasted only 2 hours and 13 minutes. I got to see Pawtucket’s MVP Jeff Bailey play at first base because Youkilis had the night off. I was really bummed, I really wanted to see Youk. I got to see everyone else, minus Tek because Wakefield was pitching tonight so I saw Kottaras catch. Papelbon pitched the ninth inning.

The Red Sox won, 2-1. Lowell and Drew scored runs, both in the 2nd. Toronto scored their only run by a HR by fomer Red Sox Kevin Millar. I sorta got to see Jacoby Ellsbury steal, but he was caught at second base. Bummer. The game was sorta slow, but the fans are never dull. My seat were directly facing CF, so I got to watch Jacoby Ellsbury a lot. =)

All in all, I had a great time, who doesn’t at Fenway?
